Monday Manners: Gifts and an Award

Here’s to Southern Manners!  Us Southern Belles know that part of a good Southern Gentleman’s manner (or any good man) is spoiling their significant other with gifts.  Rightfully so, my thoughtful husband purchased me some lovely Lilly Pulitzer items for Mother’s Day, and they’re on their way now.

Like I need another pair of sandals, but these look so fun and comfortable!

Thanks to Valerie over at Red Vines for Breakfast for awarding me with the Over the Top Award.  Her blog is so fun!  I love looking forward to what all she’s photographed of her fun times in sunny Santa Monica, and what fashion she has found.  She also creates some pretty amazing recipes too!  Now, she wants me to play along in this 8×8 game, as well.  This is so fun!  You’ve got to see what her entry was for this game, it’s pretty hilarious!

Haha!  Okay, so this was taken in late February 2009.  I went to visit my sister (#5 in line, and not pictured here) at UNC-Chapel Hill.  I stayed with her in the sorority house and had so much fun.  I ran in a race that morning, that her sorority hosted, the Shamrock-N-Run 5K.  Myself and two of my sister’s good friends are in this photo.  And no, one of them is not the Chick-Fil-A cow.  Haha.  Although I had a great time, I wanted to get back home as soon as I could that evening, so I could see W before she went down for bed.  The night I visited my sister was the first time I had left her overnight.  She was 7 1/2 months then.  Who would have known that two weeks later I would find out I was pregnant with sweet, little E.

Who wants to play this game?  Anyone!  Have fun with it!  I kind of liked going back through some old photos I had on file.  🙂

  10. Those sandals are beautiful!!!!!!! Your husband did an awesome job picking both of those items out!! I saw some really cute Lilly things at TJ Maxx this morning! I have never noticed her stuff there before! Anyway, I hope your Mother's Day was fantastic!! 🙂

  12. So cute! Bret and GG got me the Lilly P. Daphne halter dress for Mother's Day. How lucky are we? Like yours though mine hasn't arrived but is on its way from Saks. Yay! Congrats on another award. This one is too cute, I've never heard of it. Fun rules too. Hard to tell what I'd come across in my pic file. Have a good one!
