Monday Manners: Better Late than Never

I apologize for being absent from posting for a little while.  For one of the weeks, I stayed busy spring cleaning and cleaning OUT (when you’re on a roll, you’re on a roll), and the next week, the hubs had my computer to study for an exam for work.  Thankfully, all his cramming paid off.  He passed!

I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend.  Many I know attended the Carolina Cup in Camden, SC or the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC.  If you went to either, or BOTH, I’d love to know how it went!  The weather couldn’t have been better!

We were celebrating beautiful weather here, FINALLY!  My mood had just about had it with all the rain and dreary, cold weather.  After the hubs went on a hunting trip two weekends ago to Georgia, with no luck, I was so excited to get a call from him on Saturday morning, that he got his first turkey of the season (turkey season in SC is only a month long).  He brought it home and smoked it yesterday.  We had a great turkey dinner with my parents, and the in-laws last night, on such a warm, relaxing evening.  The delicious meal consisted of turkey, gravy, rice, stuffing, broccoli casserole, corn bread muffins and yeast rolls.  Sounds like Thanksgiving!  And we’ve got plenty of leftovers for the week!

To celebrate another gorgeous day here, the girls and I headed out to the park with our playgroup, for some outdoor fun and a picnic.  We also hit up the new TCBY serve-yourself, here in town!  You can tell by W’s face, she was in pure sugar heaven…and so was I.  YUM!

There’s a small pathway between these bushes and trees. The kids call it their “tunnel.” W loves it!

Can we come here everyday, PLEASE??

Hope y’all have a wonderful rest of your Monday!

  3. Glad you're back….she is just too too cute!! She looks so much like you! Glad you're having some great weather! Speaking of turkeys, my in-laws have a farm in Kentucky and every Thanksgiving (outside turkey season) there are DOZENS of turkeys crossing the hills! The poor guys just sit there and drool! Haha.

  4. Sometimes a little break is what we need!! These are fabulous photos .. welcome back!! Hubby is a hge hunting fan and my brother loves hunting turkey. HHL

  5. Charleston was crazy this weekend! So many people…like 40,000 people. I missed Cup because of school and was not happy about it. Tell your hubs if he can find land to hunt in the SC lowcountry he will get an extra two weeks of hunting in. In the counties below Columbia, turkey season comes in on March 15th.
