Monday Manners: Attend Family Weddings…

…even if it interrupts potty training.  Kind of random, but my husband would completely agree with this statement.  Until Saturday, I had been stuck inside with W since Wednesday morning, trying desperately to potty train her.  She was finally getting the hang of it, and I really didn’t want to mess it up with an interruption, but my husband insisted.  We had a family wedding to attend (my first cousin was getting married), and it was two hours there, and two hours back.  Along with being overtired, I was so worried W would relapse, especially when she was doing so well.  Well, as a matter of fact, it went very well.  Not only did we get to catch up with family we hadn’t seen in awhile, W also stayed dry the entire time.  We were so proud of her!  Props to all the mothers out there that have had to endure potty training your child, and good luck to those who still haven’t…just wait…  Oh, and lucky you, to those of you who never/will never have to do it!  My mother potty trained six of us.  I still don’t know how she kept her sanity.  At least she gave me some great advice…”Just remember, the next hardest thing to come will be teaching them how to drive.”  I sure hope that’s true…but I’m kind of sad that time will be here before we know it!
