Tuesday Trends: Lifeguard Press Agendas, M-Day Wknd and Loren Hope

Happy Tuesday!  LifeGuard Press is pre-selling their Lilly Pulitzer Agendas, which will be in stock come mid-July.  Hurry up and get yours ordered today, before they sell out!  I’m loving all of the latest prints, and to me, the best part is the fun sticker section that comes with them.  While I do have a calendar on my phone, I still keep a printed calendar as well, just in case the unexpected happens, and I lose my information on my phone.  What a nightmare that would be!  Plus, it’s always fun to look back on years past, and see what I was doing on certain days…clearly much less hectic before the kiddos!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend.  Ours was a little bittersweet, as my grandmother (the one who just passed away a couple of months ago) would have celebrated her birthday, Mother’s Day AND her anniversary ALL in one weekend.  The sweetest thing is the that she left an anniversary card in one of the drawers of their house (that she knew my grandfather would look in) because she knew she may pass before they celebrated their special day.  He found it and showed it to all of his family that visited him this past Friday, on my grandmother’s birthday.

On Saturday, we celebrated my mom’s birthday at their house, with a hamburger cook-out.  We also had my parents and almost all of my sisters (missing one) over on Sunday for a shrimp and grits bar.  The hubs grilled it up on the Egg and it was amazing!  Complete with shredded cheese and bacon to top it off.

My youngest sister (#6) who just graduated last week from USC, and me (#1).
Goofy little L…recovering from RSV and a double ear infection, poor thing.
My sister (#3) with L and my mom.  My thoughtful sister (#4) gave my mom a corsage on Mother’s Day, to remember her mother.
Wearing my awesome necklace, that W made for me in school for Mother’s Day.
Below is a portrait she made of me…
Sister #5 with E, whose getting married in less than two weeks!!
The skilled chef at work.
Poor Boozer had to be kenneled up for the festivities.
The hubs’ sister and her husband also came in town for a visit last week, from Dallas.
We were so excited to see them, and hope they move closer…SOON!

I’m sure many of you have seen this article, it’s about four years old (not sure who the author is), but it’s definitely an oldie, but goody.  Enjoy!

What Did You Do Today, Honey?

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife’s car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, ‘What happened here today?’ She again smiled and answered, ‘You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?’ ‘Yes,’ was his incredulous reply. She answered, ‘Well, today I didn’t do it.’
