How I Do It: Running + Cinco de Mayo OOTD

If you’ve followed SSP for at least a year you’ll know that last May I started running everyday.  I loved it and enjoyed my early morning or evening runs with my music and alone time.  I didn’t run to prepare for a race or even to better my speed, I did it because it helped me lose weight.  I logged my runs everyday and tried every week during the summer to post it to SSP.  When it started getting colder, late October, I stopped running everyday.  I tried.  But with the holidays and freezing cold temps, it definitely killed my motivation.  Well, I’m posting today to say that I’m going to start it up again.  This weather is just too nice not to get out there and run!  I’m hoping to start back my routine this week and will begin posting my weekly runs every Monday.  That’s my goal anyway.  Many readers seemed to like it, saying that it inspired them to run too.  So if you’re up for it, run with me!  Leave a comment on Mondays each week and let me know how you’re doing.
I know you say I inspire you, but you inspire me too!
Last year I wore these shoes to run in all summer and never had a single ache.  I’m sure you’ve seen many of my posts featuring them.  Since I know I’m supposed to replace my shoes every so often, I’m on the search for a new pair.  I’m not sure yet whether I’ll choose the same pair again or not.  I’ll be sure and let you know next Monday which ones I choose.
Do y’all have any fun plans to celebrate Cinco de Mayo today?
I’ll be wearing this tonight to celebrate.
Mara Hoffman Top // Koolaburra Sandals (selling out quickly, limited sizes available here, here and here)// FRAME Shorts // Hipanema Heaven Bracelet (only one left in this color, two left in this pink one) // RGB Coral Polish // Kate Spade Bow Studs in Green (sold out, but I have these pink ones and they’re on sale right now) // Michael Kors Layton Watch

Any excuse to eat Mexican and drink Pacificos and margaritas, right?

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

  1. Good job on getting back into running! I really need to start up again- maybe you're posting will be my inspiration!

  2. Running is my go-to for cardio. I started 5 years ago and never looked back. It helps me clear my head and not worry about dieting. What about toning?? I would love to see a sample arm workout from you!

  3. Good for you, getting back into running each day if so good for you ! I'm hoping to start back to fast pace walking real soon. I am anxious to hear what type of running shoes you decide to purchase.

  4. Love this post 🙂 I'm training for my first half marathon which is in the first week of June, and the endomondo app you suggested has really helped! Also the fact that you have four kids and still manage to run constantly is a huge inspiration. Looking forward to hearing about how it is starting the daily runs back up again!
