How I Do It: The Behavior Chart 2.0 + Giveaway Winners + Running Stats

Okay, so after last week’s post on attempting a behavior chart with my girls, I guess I was a little over-ambitious.  During the entire week of trying to get all ten stars in one day, they never did it, not even one day.  We still celebrated with a trip to the toy store at the end of the week, to celebrate getting so many stars on our chart.  I didn’t want them to feel too defeated.  The thing is, it never seemed to even bother them, that day-by-day, they weren’t filing in all of their stars.  So, the chart is being re-done.  We’ll still use stars, but will narrow down the tasks to about five a day, to increase their chance of filling them all in for the day.  I’m also going to give them small incentives (a sticker, stamp, etc.), as positive reinforcement, during the day, like I usually do anyway.  Here’s hoping this one works a little bit better.  I’ll keep you updated, next Monday.  For more, see these previous How I Do It posts: Discipline, Positive Reinforcement.
