Happy Monday! Girls’ Weekend Re-Cap

Happy Monday!  I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend.  I had the best time with my girlfriends this weekend, but by Sunday afternoon I was so anxious to hurry up and get home to see the kids and Lanier.  I know it’s good to be apart from your kids every once in awhile, it’s healthy, but I think being away again after just having gone out of town two weekends ago, it was too much.  Lanier took care of the kids by himself.  The weather was beautiful, so they spent a lot of time outside, but when I came home yesterday, all of the laundry was finished and the house was clean!  Talk about a nice homecoming!
Over the weekend, my friends Beth, Julie, Emily, and Kristen stayed at a cottage outside of Charleston.  When we all had just one child, we used to have a recurring playdate once a week.  As we started to have more children, and our lives just got busier with our kids starting preschool it became harder for us to get together as often.  While we don’t see each other as much as we’d like, we do stay in touch and weekends like this help us all catch up on each others’ lives.  One of our friends just moved to Charleston earlier this year, so it was a good excuse for the rest of us here to make a trip to visit her.
On Friday, we ate in and enjoyed salmon and caviar, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, etc.
On Saturday morning, we headed to Java Java at Freshfield’s for some breakfast.  The warm Nutella croissant was amazing!
We visited The Sanctuary at Kiawah too, and enjoyed some Bloody Marys.  How beautiful is this tablescape?
We rested up back at the cottage before heading out for some dock fun.
It was warmer that I thought!
On Saturday night, we went out to dinner at Wild Olive!  So good that I’ll definitely be going back there again! // Equipment Top (old, very similar and on sale here, and an additional 20% off with code: ACTFAST) // Marc by Marc Jacobs Crossbody // J.Crew Toothpick Jeans in Classic Rinse // Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace // Tory Burch Wedges (old, similar here) // Kate Spade Marmalade Studs
I’m sure you’ve guessed from all of these photos, but my friend’s cottage was pretty amazing.  Straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel.
Our last meal before heading home.
The breakfast at Sunset Bistro was pretty awesome!  The fries were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had, and the veggie omelette was pretty great too.  The perfect way to end our trip.  Can’t wait to do it all again next year!

I hope y’all have a great start to your week!  After a warm weekend, it’s freezing here today!

  1. Looks like a wonderful weekend with great friends, amazing setting, fun times and yummy food. That salmon/caviar picture is mouth watering. Love the Revas on the dash in the golf cart too.

Glad you're back home safe and sound.

  2. Are the Tory Burch leopard flats you are wearing the newer style of the revas? If so, what size did you get and what size did you wear in the older style of the revas? Trying to figure out what size to order! I wore an 8 in the older style, but they were a little snug so I maybe should have gone up to 8.5. What would you recommend for the newer style?

    1. Hey Sarah! The ones I have are the newer style, without the elastic back. In the older style Reva, I wore an 8.5. In the new style I wear a 7.5. Crazy, right? For you, I'd recommend a 7.5 too, since the 8s were a little snug on you in the old style. Hope that helps!
