Fashion Friday: Rue La La Success!

Lilly Pulitzer “Lilly of the Valley” Duvet Set

I was sitting by the computer on Tuesday, sacrificing sweet beach time, to order my daughters their matching bedroom sets on Rue La La.  Garnet Hill carries a Lilly Pulitzer line and their markdowns didn’t disappoint.  I figured up what I ended up saving, by getting my bedding from Rue La La’s sale, and I saved roughly $200.

Although my daughters won’t use the bedding right away, they’re still in separate rooms, but when they move in together, they’ll have the cutest bedding to start the room off right.  I also figured it would be a great base to go off of, to decorate the rest of their room.  I’m already imagining white furniture, light green walls, light green monogrammed sheets, and a frilly, white bed skirt.  Can’t go wrong with pretty, preppy, pink and green.

Lilly Pulitzer “Foxgloves” Shower Curtain

I also got this great shower curtain for our guest bathroom too.  We had a little accident with our last shower curtain, but now finding this item resolved the issue.  I had to get the “okay” from the hubs, fearing that he would think it was a little too girlie, but he actually liked it.  He also added that we needed to re-paint the bathroom anyway.  I’m thinking a pretty green.  I’d love to do a pink, but not for a guest bathroom I’m afraid.  If it was just mine, then definitely.

The Lilly Daphne dress didn’t fit as well as I thought it would, so I’ve decided to list it on Ebay.  Check it out if you’re interested, it’s a size 8.  Click here.

Hope everyone has a great Fourth of July weekend!  Stay safe.  I say this because my dad is a pyro, and a couple of years ago he blew up a dock at the lake.  He put a mortar upside down in the stand.  Oops!  We all laughed, and still remember it to this day.  Thankfully no one was injured in this incident.  A surgeon enjoying playing with fire?  Way to go, Daddy.  We could still use the dock afterward, except it had a permanent, huge black soot stain that covered the entire dock.  Needless to say, this year we’re going to WATCH someone else, a professional, shoot off fireworks.

These photos are from last year’s 4th!

W, at 13 months (as you can see, still not walking at that point)
Five months pregnant with E here.
Mama and Sister #5 enjoying the festivities.
With my mom and dad. I forgot to wear patriotic colors.  And yes, I’m a little corny.
An awe-inspiring display!
Happy Early 4th to You!

  7. LOVE the bedspreads! Please tell me you're going to have those two cute girls in twin beds? If BabyGirl never has a baby sister I will still make her have twin beds in her "big girl" room. I just love the way your room is sounding!

  8. Major score on the bedding! It brings back memories of my old pink room that I just transformed for Little Boy Blue. I love pink and white together (and of course green). Have fun on the rest of your trip.

  14. How cute are y'all?! Love little W's 4th outfit…too cute!

I've heard of Rue La La but never ordered! That bedding is perfect for your future lil' Lilly Lovers. I'm sure they'll take after their mommy and be obsessed with all things Lilly.

Speaking of Lilly…that's the exact dress I was going to get for GG's party, but at the last minute found another on sale! Too funny!

  15. I saw the Lilly Bedding and was dying to buy some, but alas I have three boys and none of them would have been down with that. I did score a couple stationary sets for myself so it wasn't a total loss. 😉
