Canada Trip: Day Three

Day Three brought our first time on the slopes since getting into town!  I was so excited!!  For the record, there were no lines for the gondolas and lifts, this was everyone waiting for Sunshine Village to open. It was about five degrees.

This was my first time skiing in over twenty years, but I was so excited!  It was crazy how quickly it came back to me though.  It also reminded us to make sure we take our kids skiing a few times while they’re younger, so they’ll hopefully remember what they’ve learned should they ever ski as adults.

I ordered these goggles from Amazon and figured if they fogged up, then I’d just buy a pair at the resort, since they were only $20.  But you know what?  They worked so well!  I wore them the entire time I skied without any problems.

First time at the top!  I think it was -5 degrees!  Such a beautiful view!

Lanier grew up skiing out west and I’d only been skiing on the east coast.  He told me the first thing I’d notice here was how quiet it was.  And it truly was.  No snowblowers and very few people.  I’m already dreaming about going back!

A well-deserved lunch break!

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen snow!

Couldn’t stop taking pictures!  The iPhone 11 was amazing!  On how I kept it from freezing up on the slopes – hand warmers next to it in my pocket.

We headed to Distillery Park for dinner.  This is where the chili vodka is made, so I of course had another Sawback cocktail.

Cheers!  Lots of y’all asked about this sweater.  I bought it up from a small boutique in Fairhope, AL last summer.  But I’m loving this one.  Love the twist back too.  Shop my earrings here.

The best skiing day!
