An Artfully Inspired Dinner + What I Wore

It’s Friday, and it’s pouring!!  And when I say pouring, I mean that it’s rained so hard and so long that they canceled schools here today.  And the latest news is that we haven’t even gotten the worst of it yet.  But amidst the torrential rain, I managed to attend a fun dinner last night that was artfully inspired.  Four artists’ works were displayed and each of the four courses represented each of the artists’ style.  It was so creative and the food was delicious!  The four artists featured were Teil Duncan, Dorothy Shain, Kate Long Stevenson and Way Way Allen.

I know you’ve seen me wear my Charleston Rice Beads in an array of colors, as necklaces or wrapped around as bracelets.

Meet Deirdre Zahl, the owner of Candy Shop Vintage in Charleston.  Her boutique carries them, along with lots of other fun vintage pieces.  She’s the sweetest and trust me, if you ever get a chance to pop in to her boutique, you will love it!
You can tell just how rainy it was by looking at the window behind us.  It poured!

How beautiful is the tablecloth that artist Dorothy Shain created for the dinner?  I wanted to take it home!  Gigi New York All In One Clutch // Baublebar Crystal Mason Ring (only $32) // Julie Vos Chloe Open Bangles

A big thank you to Hillary Crittendon of The SoGood, for hosting such a fabulous event!

What I Wore

Tory Burch Silk Shirtdress (on sale with code: FALLEVENT; fit is true to size, I’m in a 6) // Stella & Dot Birdie Necklace // Gigi New York All In One Bag // Baublebar Ring // Kate Spade Heels (similar, at a lower price point, here)

This Stella & Dot Birdie Necklace is awesome and so versatile!  Go check out more images for yourself, but you can wear it three different ways.
I had a reader email and ask how I was able to get my hair not looking frizzy with these weather conditions.
First, I apply Moroccan Oil to my hair right after I towel dry it.
And after I style it, I squeeze a small amount of Oribe Smooth Style Serum into my hands and smooth it over my hair.
In case you missed yesterday’s post, Tory Burch’s Fall Event Promo started yesterday.  I shared my absolute favorites, and one of my most favorite pieces was the dress I wore last night!  I described the fit and sizing in more detail yesterday.  Actually, if you’re shopping the sale, be sure and check out yesterday’s post because I shared lots of sizing details on many of her pieces, especially her shoes.
Bloomingdale’s Friends & Family Sale is still going on.  Be sure and use code: FRIENDS to take 25% almost everything!
Logan and Vaughn are having a joint birthday party tomorrow.  Rain or shine.  We’ve never had a joint party for any of my children, but just felt like this year it worked.  They both have many of the same boys that they’re friends with, so it just worked better.  Logan already turned 4, and Vaughn will turn 3 later this month.  It’s going to have a construction theme.  I seriously think Logan only cares about getting his construction hat and tool belt and he’ll be content.  But I think they’ll both die when they see their Minions cake!
Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!
We’ll try and stay dry here!
